WEST JORDAN -- Friends and family of missing West Valley City mother Susan Powell gathered to help the community Saturday.

Susan's sister-in-law, Jennifer Graves, organized a blanket drive at a West Jordan church at 5176 W. Parr Drive. Local fabric stores donated about 30 yards of fabric. Volunteers cut the fabric into blankets and trimmed them with lace.

The whole project was done in Susan's name as part of a week of service in her honor.

"The reason why we're doing it for Susan is to keep her name and face in the public eye and to make sure that people don't forget her," Graves said.

The group donated the finished blankets to Primary Children's Medical Center.

Susan was last seen on Dec. 6 at her home in West Valley City. Police have named Susan's husband, Josh Powell, the only person of interest in this case. There have been no arrests.
