SALT LAKE CITY -- A man convicted of beating, robbing and raping a University of Utah student more than a decade ago has learned his fate.
Friday, a judge sentenced Donald Younge to 31 years to life in prison for the 1996 assault.
Investigators used DNA evidence to link Younge to the crime. Neither Younge nor the victim spoke, but prosecutors said the victim is "still haunted by this."
Younge is also awaiting trial on charges of murder, attempted murder and robbery in connection with the 1999 death of University of Utah student Amy Quinton.
