BOUNTIFUL -- Fire forced nearly a half dozen families from their homes in Bountiful Saturday morning.
Fire officials said the blaze started in a vacant condo unit at 9:00. The unit was located on the top floor of a six-plex at 1319 East Ridgewood Lane.
The flames spread in between the walls and jumped into the attic -- which is shared by other units. Fire crews evacuated the building before the fire damaged five other units.

"We'll have five families that are going to be displaced for quite some time," said Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Bassett with the South Davis Metro Fire Agency.
The Greater Salt Lake Area Chapter of the American Red Cross will provide those families with shelter, food and other necessities.
Fire investigators said they were working to figure out what started the blaze.
