CHENEY, Wash. (AP) -- Trevyn Smith rushed for 143 yards and Cameron Higgins threw two touchdown passes as Weber State spoiled Eastern Washington's homecoming with a 31-13 victory Saturday.
Higgins completed 21 of 37 for 235 yards for the Wildcats (3-3, 3-1 Big Sky), ranked No. 21 in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision.
For the 14th-ranked Eagles (4-2, 3-1), senior quarterback Matt Nichols threw for 354 yards to become the school's all-time leader in passing yards with 10,315.
Weber State turned a tight game into a comfortable lead late in the first half when the Wildcats used two Eastern Washington miscues to score on a field goal, a safety and a touchdown in the span of a minute to push a 10-7 lead to a 22-7 advantage with 32 seconds left.
