Alex Cabrero Reporting Just before 10 o'clock this morning, a diamond dealer was leaving his hotel room here at the Holiday Inn Express. He had a briefcase full of diamonds with him. Once he got outside, though, that briefcase would be gone.
Police are looking for two men involved in a violent robbery today in Murray. Lt. Kenny Bass, Murray Police Dept.: "One of them was armed with a knife. One of them was armed with a handgun."
The robbery is similar to one that happened in Salt Lake City last month. Police are now wondering if the crimes are connected.
This diamond dealer walked out of his hotel room this morning only to find two guys waiting for him in a minivan. They got out, and demanded his briefcase which was full of diamonds. The robbers even punctured his car tire so he couldn't follow them. How the robbers knew his car and exactly where he was staying is a mystery.
Lt. Kenny Bass: "Whatever information we can gather, we will, and get it out there."

Last May, also in Murray, pretty much the same thing happened. Two robbers demanded the briefcase of a diamond dealer who was staying at the Crystal Inn. They, too, got out of a minivan.
And last month in Salt Lake City, two men jumped a dealer who was carrying a bag full of jewelry outside the Triple-A jewelry store.
In today's case, the victim is okay, he wasn't even injured, but everything he was hoping to make a living with is now gone.
Lt. Kenny Bass: "There was a substantial amount of diamonds."
