MORGAN -- An animal rights advocacy group plans to protest mink farms in Morgan County.
According to the Standard-Examiner, the Salt Lake Animal Advocacy Movement sent a letter informing Morgan City of its plan to protest at the end of November. The group says it hopes to stage a peaceful protest and vigil outside a mink farm in the city.
Mink growers, however, worry it will turn into something more, with their property being destroyed and minks being set free.
Utah is one of the top states for mink production, coming in only behind Wisconsin.
