AMERICAN FORK -- The Utah County Sheriff's Office is calling a weekend DUI checkpoint a success.
In just about 11 hours, deputies made 32 arrests on State Route 92 in American Fork Canyon. Fifteen were for alcohol violations, such as having open containers in a car or illegal consumption of alcohol.
Five people were arrested for drunk driving and their cars were impounded as well.
Deputies also made a number of misdemeanor drug arrests. Of the 17 people arrested on drug charges, two were booked into jail on felony child endangerment charges for using drugs in the presence of children.
The checkpoint began Saturday afternoon and ran through early Sunday.
