SALT LAKE CITY -- A kitchen fire broke out in a Salt Lake City apartment building Friday morning.
Fire crews were called to the building at 250 South and 300 East when smoke was spotted coming from a unit on the second floor.
They were able to quickly knock down the flames before it spread to other apartments, but residents were evacuated as a precaution.
No one was in the apartment at the time, and no injuries were reported.
There was some smoke damage to the unit. The cause is under investigation.
