FARMINGTON -- Linda Nef pleaded guilty to first-degree felony attempted aggravated sex abuse of a child. Details of the plea agreement have not yet been released.
Nef, 46, is accused of engaging in sexual acts with a 13-year-old from Jan. 2 to Feb. 14 of 2008. The judge noted that she had a special relationship of trust with him.
"Is that what you did, Ms. Nef?" Judge Rodney Page asked her.
"It is your honor," Nef replied.
The judge ordered a pre-sentencing report for Nef before she is sentenced July 21. Her attorney told reporters outside of court that she has already undergone a psycho-sexual evaluation, which found that she is neither a pedophile nor a predator.
The victim and his family say they want the possibility of probation for her.
Another teacher accused of having sex with the same student after Nef, is scheduled to be back in court on June 29. Valynne Bowers has also been in plea negotiations, so it's possible she will have a plea deal at that time.
