PROVO -- A Provo company is getting ready to unveil a full-sized electric truck they say could get more than 100 miles per gallon.
Raser Technologies will unveil their new engine in an SUV at an auto show in Detroit later this month.
Marketing vice president David West said, "We have a 4-wheel-drive truck that's greener than Prius."

West says the truck's electric engine will accelerate and have more torque than a regular truck engine. It will go the first 40 miles on electricity alone, then a built in gas generator will charge the batteries if you keep on driving. And you can use the generator for about anything else you want.
"There's enough power in this vehicle, if you idle it, to power your home and six of your neighbors' in an emergency," West said.

West says if you drive 60 miles a day, the truck will get you around 100 miles per gallon. The company hopes to have a consumer version for sale in 2011.
