SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- A former University of Utah professor who quit when child pornography was discovered on his campus computer has pleaded guilty in federal court.

Dr. William Zwiebel's plea was accepted Monday by U.S. District Judge Dale Kimball.

He was a professor of radiology at the university's medical school and chief of imaging services next door at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center.

On Aug. 31, images of child pornography were discovered on Zwiebel's computer. He was placed on leave and resigned Sept. 8.

Authorities said they found hundreds of images and videos of adults having sex with children. Zwiebel, 62, will be sentenced Feb. 26.
