SALT LAKE CITY -- Utahns have the 13th heaviest tax burden in the nation.
According to the Tax Foundation, Utahns must work until April 13th until they have earned enough to pay taxes for the year.
That is the 13th latest tax freedom day in the nation and the latest of any Mountain West state.
The Tax Foundation report says that a large part of the taxes paid by Utahns are sales taxes. In fact, they say most Utahns pay more in sales taxes each year than they do in property or state income taxes.
