KEARNS, Utah (AP) -- American Shani Davis has reclaimed the world record in the 1,500 meters in a speedskating World Cup meet at the Utah Olympic Oval.

Davis finished in 1 minute, 41.80 seconds on Friday to beat the previous record of 1:42.01 set by Canada's Denny Morrison in Calgary last March.

Morrison bettered the time of 1:42.32 that Davis had shared with Erben Wennermars of the Netherlands.
