(KSL News) -- New census numbers show some interesting changes in the population of the state. Salt Lake is still the most populus city, but Provo has been knocked out of the second place spot.

West Valley is now the second most populous city in the state, with close to 119-thousand people living there. The previous census estimate put West Valley's population at just over 113-thousand, but city officials challenged the numbers and the U.S. Census Bureau recalculated the estimate.

West Valley has 36-hundred more people than Provo, pushing it to number three with just over 115-thousand people living there.

Salt Lake still tops them all, with 178,097 people. All population estimates are for the year 2005.
