(KSL News) A mechanical malfunction is being blamed for a fire that ripped through four businesses in West Valley City early Wednesday morning.
The fire started at 2:30 a.m. at Ryan's Performance Plus at 4669 W. 3500 South.
Fire investigators say someone working on a car accidentally sparked an explosion in a compressed gas canister. The fire is being classified as accidental.
More than a million dollars in damage was done by the blaze. The businesses affected are Hunter Machine, Proline Automotive, Custom Taxidermy and Ryan's Performance Plus.
