(KSL News) Some Salt Lake City residents who are on vacation could have lost their home if it hadn't been for alert neighbors.
The neighbors called police this afternoon when they saw smoke coming from the roof of a house near 1400 South and Wasatch Drive.
When firefighters arrived, they found flames in the attic and were able to put them out. A fire captain says the damage could have been much greater. "Again, the occupants are out of town, so it was good a neighbor was watching the house and was aware. They caught it fairly early," he said.
We talked with the owners of the home on the phone, and they say they've never been more grateful for good neighbors.
