SALT LAKE CITY — In just over a week, reservations for the Salt Lake Temple Open House will be available, and in preparation, there are now more details about what to expect on Sept. 1.

In a statement on Thursday, the church said reservations for walking through the temple will be available starting at 11 a.m. on TempleSquare.org and the Temple Square app. This is where reservations for the Inside a Temple exhibit in the visitor's center are currently available, along with other information about Temple Square events.

Individuals can reserve up to six tickets for the Salt Lake Temple Celebration, which will run from April 5, 2027 to Oct. 1, 2027.

Those who would like to reserve tickets for a larger group will be able to submit a reservation request. This could include family reunion groups, church groups or other organizations.

"The Salt Lake Temple Celebration will mark the reopening of the church's flagship temple and invite millions of guests to experience the renewed building and learn more about the purpose of temples," the statement said.

The tours will be scheduled from 8:40 a.m. through 8:00 p.m. each day except Sunday, when tours will begin instead at noon.

If tickets for a person's preferred date or time are not available after the tickets release on Sept. 1, the church's announcement said more tickets will be available in future releases.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has said it expects millions to attend the Salt Lake Temple Celebration, which will include multiple experiences and exhibits including walking through the renovated Salt Lake Temple.

Although reservations are recommended for the tours, they will not be required for experiencing the Salt Lake Temple Celebration as a whole. Guests will be able to still participate in many activities and experiences without a reservation.

There will also be virtual opportunities to participate in the celebration around the world.

"The Salt Lake Temple Celebration invites people everywhere to rejoice in Jesus Christ and learn more about the purpose of temples," the statement said.
