TORREY, Wayne County — Crews responded to a human-caused wildfire in Wayne County on Wednesday.

What's being referred to as the Grover Fire sparked around 1 p.m. and burned roughly 11 acres, according to Utah Fire Info.

"Thanks to a quick response from Wayne Co. Fire District, structures were protected with minimal loss during this wind-driven fire," the agency wrote in a social media post. Local, state and federal agencies assisted with efforts to stop the fire's progression.

Utah Fire Info said the fire was burning in sagebrush and pinyon-juniper.

The incident was deemed human-caused, but remains under investigation.

Crews are expected to remain on scene while windy conditions persist as they work through mop-up efforts.
