PROVO — The widow of Charlie Kirk is requesting that a Florida attorney with several celebrity clients represent her in the capital murder case against the man charged with killing her husband.
Erika Kirk has retained the services of Jeffrey Adam Nieman, of Florida, to represent her in Utah. Last year, Nieman formed a new law firm, Neiman Mays Floch & Almeida PLLC. Some of the firm's clients include social media influencer Logan Paul, singer Trey Songz, and businessman and TV personality Kevin O'Leary, according to the Florida Daily Business Review.
Working with Park City attorney Brennan H. Moss, a motion was filed in 4th District Court to allow Nieman, who is neither licensed to practice law in Utah nor is a resident of Utah, to act "pro hac vice" to Kirk, meaning he wants to appear in Utah as the victim's representative for this case only. Moss has agreed to serve as local counsel for Kirk.
Tyler Robinson, 22, is charged with capital murder and faces a potential death sentence if convicted of killing Charlie Kirk, 31, on Sept. 10 on the campus of Utah Valley University.
Robinson's next court hearing is scheduled for April 17. At that time, the issue of allowing cameras and microphones in the courtroom will be argued.
