SOUTH SALT LAKE — A bicyclist is in critical condition after being struck by a car in South Salt Lake.
One person was biking at about 2:19 a.m. on Saturday when he or she was hit near 2896 S. 900 West. The person, whom police did not publicly identify, was taken to the hospital in critical condition, but their current condition is unknown, South Salt Lake police said.
Police said investigators have leads on who the driver who fled the scene might be.
This hit-and-run comes after a slew of vehicle and bike collisions across the Wasatch Front in recent weeks.
- A 21-year-old man died Thursday morning after a crash involving a vehicle and an e-bike in Riverton.
- A 31-year-old man died last week after a car turned into the path of two northbound motorcycles on Redwood Road in South Jordan.
- Similar crashes also occurred throughout July in American Fork, American Fork Canyon, Weber Canyon, South Jordan and Holladay.
