ST. GEORGE — One man is dead and another is in critical condition after a side-by-side crash on Cottonwood Springs Road in Washington County Saturday.

First responders were dispatched at approximately 10:30 p.m. Saturday, after the Consolidated Communications Center received a call that someone had located a side-by-side that appeared to have rolled, Washington County Sheriff's Office Lt. Lucas Alfred told St. George News.

"There were two individuals on scene, two males that were not moving or responsive," Alfred said. "Two 25-year-old men were riding a Polaris Razor ATV halfway between Yellow Knolls trail and Mesa Rim trail, east of Snow Canyon and Winchester Hills."

Alfred confirmed that one man died at the scene, and the second was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. George Regional Hospital. He said emergency responders could not talk to the second man due to the extent of his injuries.
