TAYLORSVILLE — A woman was arrested Thursday and accused of ramming into a police vehicle twice and attempting to flee.
Bellkeese Zoe Moua, 24, was driving "into oncoming traffic" near 3200 W. 5400 South about 11 p.m. when she rammed into a stopped patrol vehicle that had its emergency lights activated, a police booking affidavit states. She is accused of reversing then striking the patrol vehicle a second time before attempting to flee in her car.
Taylorsville police stopped her by pinning her vehicle. The woman did not have a valid driver's license, police said.
"The arrestee was not able to follow simple commands and appeared incoherent as she could not answer simple questions such as what her name is, where she is, where she is from, and who the president is," the affidavit states.
The woman was taken to the hospital for a DUI blood draw. While she was being medically cleared, police told her she couldn't have her phone as she was still detained.
She lunged to grab her phone, which was on the counter outside her hospital room, police said. A police officer grabbed her arms to put her in handcuffs, but "she swung her body attempting to escape custody. She was brought to the ground and placed in handcuffs," according to the affidavit.
She was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of failing to stop at command of law enforcement, driving under the influence, interfering with a peace officer, driving without a valid license, crossing the highway divider and failing to remain at the scene of a vehicle accident.
