CEDAR CITY — A woman has died after two cars collided in an Iron County intersection Tuesday evening.

A Toyota truck was northbound on 5300 West when it attempted to turn left onto state Route 56. The Toyota turned into the path of a Dodge pickup truck that was traveling on state Route 56, Utah Highway Patrol Lt. Cameron Roden said.

An elderly female passenger in the Dodge truck received significant, life-threatening injuries and was transported by helicopter to a hospital, Roden said. On Wednesday, Roden said the woman had died from her injuries. Her identity has not yet been released.

The male driver was transported by ambulance for what appeared to be minor injuries. The driver of the Toyota was treated on scene for minor injuries.
