DUCHESNE — A 16-year-old Duchesne boy has been charged as an adult with murder in the fatal shooting death of another teenager in Duchesne County.

Haegan Ray Sagers was charged Monday in 8th District Court with murder and discharge of a firearm causing serious injury, first-degree felonies.

On Sunday, deputies from the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office responded to a "report of a family fight" that included a shot being fired. Sagers was found outside the residence, and another teen was found dead inside with a gunshot wound to his upper body, according to a statement from the sheriff's office.

No other family members were home at the time, the sheriff's office said. After questioning the 16-year-old boy, deputies took him into custody.

Court documents state the boy who died, only identified by his initials M.P., was 14 years old.

No other information about the investigation has been released.
