SALT LAKE CITY — Perhaps the biggest question of Lone Peak's third-straight 6A girls golf championship was which of the Knights would claim medalist honors.

Maybe that wasn't as questionable, either.

Aadyn Long shot 3-under-par 69 on the second day of the tournament as Lone Peak took the top three spots on the leaderboard and dropped a team total 294 on the gold course at Soldier Hollow golf club in Midway.

It's just the fourth time in the sanctioned history of girls golf in Utah that a team broke 300 strokes in an 18-hole round at a state meet, and the third time by the Knights (Corner Canyon also shot 298 in 2018).

The Knights finished with a two-day total of 18-over-0par 594, 74 strokes better than runner-up Fremont. Weber finished third (682), followed by Corner Canyon (692) and Bingham (693).

Long, who has committed to BYU where her older sister Berlin plays, finished Monday's opening round two shots back of teammate Adley Nelson, who shot 1-under 73 through the first 18 holes.

But the junior carded four birdies with a bogey to finish at 3-under 33 on the front nine, and coasted to the finish with even-par 36 on the back to help the Knights claim their sixth state title since 2016.

Nelson shot 4-over 76 on the second day to finish second at 3-over, and Lone Peak sophomore Saydie Wagner was third at 5-over. Herriman's Natalie McLane, Weber's Remi Rawlings and Corner Canyon's Alyssa Meadows rounded out the top five.
