WILLARD, Box Elder County — One person was killed Friday night in a three-vehicle crash near Willard, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.

A Honda Civic was disabled and had stopped in the median of I-15 near milepost 352 due to a previous accident Friday night. The driver of a Mercedes had also stopped in the median to offer aid to the driver of the Honda Civic.

While both cars were stopped, the driver of a Hyundai Elantra was traveling north about 10:35 p.m., lost control and traveled into the median, striking the Mercedes, troopers said.

The Elantra continued past the Mercedes and also hit the Civic. The driver of the Civic was standing outside of the vehicle when it was hit and was thrown across the barrier.

Johnathan McQueen, 18, was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries, according to the Utah Department of Public Safety.
