MANTI — Dates have been announced by the First Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for the open house and rededication of the Manti Utah Temple and the rededication of the St. George Utah Temple.
An open house for the Manti temple will run from Thursday, March 14, through Friday, April 5, 2024, excluding Sundays. The open house is an opportunity for anyone to tour the temple.
The temple will be rededicated on April 21, 2024, with a broadcast available within the Manti temple's district, according to a news release from the church.
"Church President Russell M. Nelson announced the renovation and renewal of the Manti Temple in April 2019. The renovation began in 2021," the release said Monday.
The Manti temple was renovated and rededicated in 1985 by President Gordon B. Hinckley of the First Presidency.
The church also announced that President Jeffery R. Holland, acting president of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, will rededicate the St. George Utah Temple in two sessions on Sunday, Dec. 10.
The St. George Utah Temple open house ran from Sept. 15 to Nov. 11.
Both buildings are pioneer-era temples.
Utah is home to 28 temples and nearly 2.2 million Latter-day Saints.
