HURRICANE — A crash sent five people to the hospital Friday morning, with three in serious or critical condition.
Hurricane police said around 7:44 a.m. emergency crews were dispatched to 1150 W. State on reports of a person being thrown from a vehicle.
Utah Highway Patrol said a minivan — believed by police to have allegedly driven through a red light — entered the intersection where it was hit by an SUV. A passenger from the minivan was ejected and is in critical condition.
The two occupants of the SUV were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Another passenger and the driver of the minivan were also taken to hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
Hurricane police, Washington County Sheriff's Office and the Utah Highway Patrol responded to the accident.
