SANDY — A motorcyclist died early Saturday after a crash near 1300 East and 10600 South in Sandy.

Shortly after 6 a.m. police received a call regarding a single-vehicle crash, according to Sandy Police Sgt. Greg Moffitt. The motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was confirmed dead at the scene.

"There was a helmet on scene, but we're not sure at the moment if he was wearing his helmet," said Moffitt.

An accident reconstruction team was on the scene about 9 a.m. to investigate the crash. Northbound lanes on 1300 East from 10400 South to 10600 South were closed for investigation of the scene.
