SALT LAKE CITY — A shooting in Salt Lake City Sunday resulted in a teen girl being injured and one man arrested.

Fahd Issam Mahdi, 18, was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on Sunday for investigation of felony discharge of a firearm.

The investigation began about 2:30 a.m. Sunday when police were called to local hospital where a 17-year-old girl showed up with a gunshot wound to her leg. Officers say her friends took her to the hospital.

Detectives questioned the girl and learned the shooting happened near 1400 S. Main Street and Madhi was the alleged gunman. He was arrested at a home in South Jordan.

What lead up to the shooting was still under investigation Monday.
