SMITHFIELD, Cache County — A 45-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash on state Route 23 Wednesday morning, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.
A Ford F-150 was driving south on S.R. 23 near the intersection of 4600 North while a Polaris Ranger was westbound and crossing S.R. 23 at the same location, troopers said.
"The driver of (the) Polaris allowed the lead vehicle of two to pass by and then attempted to cross S.R. 23 between vehicles. The Ford struck the Ranger broadside, ejecting the driver," the UHP said.
The Polaris driver died at the scene, troopers said. His name has not yet been released.
