SALT LAKE CITY — It's been a long time and for Dixie High's boys tennis team, it may as well have been the first time.

Austin Beckstrom and Ari Fackrell took the first doubles title, and the Flyers snapped a 22-year championship drought with their first 4A boys tennis title since 2001 Saturday at Liberty Park.

Beckstrom and Fackrell defeated Snow Canyon's Braden Koch and Bryce Jensen, 7-5, 6-2, and Dixie used the depth of five semifinal bids and a runner-up finish by Gavin Bishop in third singles to hold off second-place Crimson Cliffs by two points.

The Mustangs finished with 40 points, one point better than third-place Ridgeline. Desert Hills and Green Canyon rounded out the top five.
