SALT LAKE CITY — More than a month after winning a second-straight 6A state championship, Lone Peak girls basketball will play for another crown.
BYU signee Kailey Woolston poured in 32 points and 12 rebounds as Lone Peak advanced to the championship game of the State Champions Invitational with a 68-60 win over Desert Vista (Ariz.) at Georgetown University in Washington, D.C.
Jerzy Robinson had 19 points and 12 rebounds to lead Desert Vista.
Woolston had five-straight makes, including back-to-back 3-pointers midway through the third quarter to push the Knights' lead to 55-33.
Named the top player in the state by Gatorade, MaxPreps and the Deseret News, Woolston — who was BYU coach Amber Whiting's first commit to the program — converted 6-of-10 3-pointers, and Lone Peak's defense held Desert Vista to 39% shooting and led by double figures most of the way until a fourth-quarter rally by the Arizona champs closed to within 8.

In Thursday's first-round games, Kozlowski poured in 17 points, seven assists, seven rebounds and four steals in Corner Canyon's 89-61 win over Yazoo City.
