WEST VALLEY CITY — Police are looking for a gunman who fired multiple shots during an indoor swap meet in West Valley City on Saturday, grazing one person, police say.

Around 5:50 p.m. Saturday a male entered a swap meet at 1500 W. 3500 South armed with a handgun, West Valley police said.

The gunman fired multiple shots inside the building. No one was killed when the shots were fired, West Valley police say. One person was grazed by a bullet, but was not taken to the hospital, police say. The person who was grazed, a male, was described by police as "mentally shaken but otherwise OK."

Lt. Jason Vincent with West Valley police said that the bullet made contact with the right hip of the person who was grazed. Vincent said the spot looks like a welt, but there was no penetration of the skin.

One witness told KSL-TV that she heard about four gunshots. She said her first instinct was to run outside of the building where the swap meet was being held.

The gunman is described as wearing a mask and glasses, West Valley police say. He stole a laptop and other items from a jewelry store, according to the police.

Vincent says the business owners are working to reopen on Sunday.

Police are reviewing surveillance video from the swap meet.
