GREEN RIVER, Emery County — A 6-year-old was killed and three people injured in a single-vehicle crash caused by wet road conditions on Monday, troopers said.
A Ford F-150 was traveling east on U.S. 6 a few miles north of Green River around 2:13 p.m. on Monday. As the vehicle crossed a railroad overpass, the roads changed from wet to covered in sleet, Utah Highway Patrol troopers said. The driver lost control, and the truck left the roadway and rolled down an embankment.
One passenger, a 6-year-old boy, was ejected, transported via ambulance then taken by medical helicopter to a local hospital, where he later died, according to investigators. The driver and two other passengers remained in the vehicle as it rolled, and were taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.
Investigators haven't released the names of the driver or passengers.
