LEHI — Lehi police are seeking more information about a man they say attempted to kidnap a teenage girl at a popular corn maze.
The attempted kidnapping happened at Cornbelly's at 3003 N. Thanksgiving Way on Saturday around 10:30 p.m., police say.
The man approached a 14-year-old girl as she left to walk through the parking lot of the corn maze. He then grabbed the teen's shoulders, shook her and grabbed her wrists, attempting to take her away, according to police.
It was at this point that the teen started screaming, alerting people nearby. The suspect then fled from the parking lot, police say.
The suspect is described as a man, possibly Hispanic, with a short black beard, police said. He is believed to be in his 30s and is about 5-foot-10. The suspect was last known to be wearing black sweats and a dark blue hoodie with the hood up over his head.
A police spokewoman said it will be difficult to locate the suspect because the description is vague.
Any witnesses to the attempted kidnapping are asked to call the Lehi Police Department at its tip line, 385-201-1005.
