TAYLORSVILLE — A man and woman were killed early Wednesday in a shooting in Taylorsville, police said.
About 5 a.m., police received the report of multiple gunshots in the area of 3600 W. 4700 South. When officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old woman dead, with multiple gunshot wounds, said Taylorsville Police Sgt. Jake Hill.
"One of the people who called police was a passing motorist whose back window was shot out by a stray bullet. That driver was not injured and there were no other injuries reported," Taylorsville police said in a statement.
About 30 minutes later, as officers were canvassing the area and talking to witnesses about a block to the east around 3500 West, officers found a man with a gunshot wound who was also deceased. Police said he was 27 years old.
Police have not yet released the man's and woman's identities, or said whether they knew each other.
"But we do believe, after talking with witnesses and gathering the evidence that we have, that the two people we have are the ones that were involved and there's no outstanding suspect," Hill said.
