Amber Alert canceled for boy in American Fork; search for suspect continues

Police have issued an Amber Alert seeking the public's help to find a 5-year-old boy who they say was abducted in American Fork. Police say the suspect is Danny Sihalath, 29, who is described as a 5-foot-11 Asian or Pacific Islander with black hair and brown eyes. Sihalath weighs 190 pounds and has a sleeve tattoo on both forearms.

AMERICAN FORK — Police have canceled an Amber Alert for a 5-year-old boy who they say was abducted in American Fork.

The child, Lorenzo Linam, was found at a family member's house in Salt Lake County and the alert was canceled at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, American Fork police said.

Police are still searching for the suspect, Danny Sihalath, 29. He is described as a 5-foot-11 Asian or Pacific Islander with black hair and brown eyes. Sihalath weighs 190 pounds and has a sleeve tattoo on both forearms. He was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and dark tennis shoes. He is believed to be driving a red 2012 Accura TSX SE with license plate 2S2NP; the vehicle also has a missing front bumper and grill and damage to the driver's side window.

The child was in the back seat of the car during an incident in the parking lot of a Walmart in American Fork Tuesday night, according to American Fork police Lt. Josh Christensen.

Anyone who sees Sihalath is asked to dial 911 or call police at 801-822-2969.
