GOSHEN, Utah County — One driver was killed and another was critically injured in a crash that closed U.S. Highway 6 near Goshen Thursday morning.

About 5:48 a.m., a Chevy Impala was driving east on U.S. 6 when a westbound Ford F-150 crossed the center line into oncoming traffic for "unknown reasons," the Utah Highway Patrol said in a statement.

The truck hit the car head-on, killing the car's driver on impact. The driver of the truck was flown to an area hospital in critical condition.

"Possible impairment is being investigated as a contributor to this crash," troopers said.

U.S. 6 was closed in both directions for several hours about a mile east of Goshen until 10:30 a.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
