SUNSET — Two people died when their vehicles collided on Main Street in Sunset Sunday evening, police said.
A 33-year-old man was driving south on Main Street near 1900 North about 8 p.m. "For one reason or another, the vehicle that was traveling southbound veered into the northbound traffic and (crashed) head-on with another vehicle," said Sunset Police Sgt. Brett Jamison.
A 46-year-old woman who was driving the northbound vehicle died at the scene, Jamison said. A medical helicopter airlifted the man, but he also died. Both of them were from Weber County. Their names have not yet been released.
Investigators believe the man was driving about 55 mph and the woman was driving the posted speed limit of 45 mph at the time of the crash, Jamison said.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
