MONA, Juab County — A woman was found dead inside a vehicle near a Mona gas station Sunday afternoon, and two men were arrested in connection with her death, police said.
Officers from the Juab County Sheriff's Office and Nephi Police Department responded to a "disturbance" at the Park N Pump gas station around 12:55 p.m., according to a news release from the sheriff's office.
When they arrived at the gas station, located along state Route 54 just west of I-15, they learned there was a deceased woman who had allegedly been shot inside a vehicle, the release says.
Two 26-year-old men from South Dakota — David Manuel Mestas and Richard Anthony Sanchez — were booked into the Juab County Jail for investigation of charges relating to the woman's death, police said.
The woman's body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner's Office for official identification and to determine a cause of death.
The death is being investigated as a homicide.
