LAYTON — A woman whose ex-boyfriend was charged Tuesday with attempted murder is now in trouble herself, according to police.

Darryl Levi Lindley, 21, of Layton, was charged Tuesday in 2nd District Court with attempted murder after police say he stabbed his ex-girlfriend's new boyfriend.

The new boyfriend is only 16, according to a police booking affidavit filed Thursday.

The girlfriend, Tadiana Cooper, 20, of Layton, was arrested Thursday and booked into the Davis County Jail for investigation of obstructing justice and sexual exploitation of a minor after police searched her phone and found she was withholding evidence related to the attempted murder, the affidavit states.

Detectives also found videos of Cooper and the 16-year-old engaged in sexual activity, according to the affidavit.

Police say Cooper recorded video on her phone of the fight between Lindley and the teen.

"Darryl is seen on a recorded video stabbing (the boy) at least 16 times with a bladed weapon," the affidavit states, adding that after the stabbing, Cooper refused to cooperate with detectives for nearly an hour "on what had truly occurred ... and stated she did not want to be a 'snitch.'"

After eventually agreeing to talk, she allowed detectives to look at her phone. Police reported finding two videos of the attack. But investigators also found deleted text messages with Lindley that Cooper did not tell police about, the affidavit says.

"Tadiana tells Darryl that (the teen) is stabbed badly. Darryl responds 'Ik man stab him enough I was tryna kill him.' This statement is evidence of intent to kill. Darryl again texts Tadiana he wanted to kill (the boy). Tadiana texts Darryl and alerts him that law enforcement is looking for him," police wrote in the affidavit.

Cooper "is on felony probation for a 2019 aggravated robbery involving a firearm" and she fled to Texas after that charge was filed to avoid being arrested, according to the affidavit.
