THE LOCKER ROOM — Sports and music are indelibly tied together. Marching bands and high school football, "We Will Rock You" at basketball games, and walk-up music for pitchers in baseball.
This music is often used to intimidate the opponent or set the tone for the game. But sometimes athletes like to throw you a curveball with their tunes. I know what I did there and I'm not apologizing.
Major league baseball players Zack Greinke, Josh Reddick and Austin Hedges have all swooned stadiums full of fans with "Careless Whisper" as they waltz onto the field. Not really a song to strike fear into your on-field foes, but whatever works for you I support.
The Chorley Magpies are a sixth tier British football team. For those that don't know what it means it's like Single-A baseball. In fact, it's even a bit lower than that.
Regardless the Magpies won their match in the FA Cup. The team headed back to the locker room for some post-game shenanigans and celebrating. We've seen this play out before.
Usually the team cheers and dances to hip-hop or rock music. Something that seems to exude testosterone and gets the blood pumping. But not the Magpies. What do these guys do to celebrate a big win? Throw Adele on the sound system, of course.

Sports reporter, Darren Rovell, reposted this video of the Magpies as they sing Adele's "Someone Like You." Why this song to celebrate? I have no idea, but I don't care because I can tell this brood loves it and from now on it will be a staple of celebration anthems for me. I think it'd be great to watch Aaron Rodgers take the field during the playoffs with this blaring through the stadium.
