ARLINGTON, Texas — The Wright family of southern Utah continued its legacy of professional rodeo success this weekend, as two Wrights captured three world titles at the National Finals Rodeo in Arlington, Texas.

Stetson Wright secured an all-around world championship on Friday, then won the bull riding championship Saturday night. His brother Ryder won the saddle bronc competition for the second time, and Genola native Kaycee Feild won his fifth bareback world championship, locking up four different world titles for three Utah cowboys during the biggest annual rodeo event.

Stetson Wright's all-around world championship is his second in a row. "That's what I always wanted growing up, to be one of the best cowboys to ever live," he told the PRCA rodeo organization. "That means a lot to hear people talk that highly about me makes me feel lucky and happy to be where I'm at."

He clinched the all-around world title with a 92-point ride on the bull Smoke Stack on Friday, then secured his bull riding title with an 89-point ride on Angel's Landing on Saturday night, the fourth-best score of the round.

Feild's clincher came with a 91-point outing on the horse Junior Bonner. Ryder Wright captured the saddle bronc crown with a 91 on Big Texas.

The National Finals Rodeo is held every year in Las Vegas, but was moved for this year to the Texas Rangers' new home of Globe Life Field in Arlington, which also played host to the 2020 World Series.

The 2020 victories add to a long history of rodeo success for the Wright family. Stetson's father Cody is a two-time saddle bronc world champion and his uncles Spencer and Jesse have captured one, as well.

Utah Gov. Gary Herbert congratulated the three champion cowboys on Twitter on Sunday. "Utah's western roots run deep," he wrote, "and I (am) proud to see the success of Utahns on the premier rodeo stage."
