WEST JORDAN — A woman was arrested Friday in West Jordan after she allegedly shot a juvenile male with a bow and arrow from a rooftop and threatened him with firearms.

Chelsie Marinos Huggins, 38, is being held on suspicion of aggravated assault and child abuse.

Police responded to a home near 7800 South and 5200 West Friday afternoon to what was initially reported as a stabbing, according to West Jordan Police Sgt. Adam Julian. They encountered a juvenile male with a "fairly significant wound to his leg."

In a probable cause statement, another officer wrote that the wound was on his left leg.

According to the statement, the juvenile told police he was shot by a bow and arrow. Witnesses at the scene told officers a woman was on the roof of her residence when she got into a verbal argument with the juvenile. They said she had a rifle and handgun on the roof and was pointing them at the juvenile.

A witness said she saw the juvenile get hit with "something," the statement says, "but did not hear any gun shots." She observed the juvenile bleeding from his leg and heard the woman tell him not to come back or "she would kill him."

Huggins came out and was taken into custody without incident, Julian said.
