WEST VALLEY CITY — After a Sunday night Amber Alert, an almost 2-month old infant allegedly taken by her biological mother who does not have custody was found safe, the West Valley City Police Department says.

Police believe Leticia Lee Vigil, 29, took Viana Vigil about 11 a.m. Saturday. The alert was issued about 9:40 p.m. Sunday. Vigil lost custody of her daughter on Oct. 27, according to West Valley police. The child was placed in the care of another family member.

Police said this was not a case of custodial interference as "the biological mother has no rights to the child, which escalates the taking of the child to the status of abduction."

Leticia Vigil is 5-foot-3, 130 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. Her daughter also has brown hair and brown eyes and is about 14 pounds, according to police.

Anyone with information on the infant can call 911 or West Valley police at 801-840-4000.
