WEST POINT — Davis County Sheriff's Deputies were involved in a shooting Tuesday morning after responding to a report of a suspicious man in West Point, officials said.

No one was injured in the shooting, which took place about 10 a.m. at a residence near 800 N. 4500 West in West Point, the Davis County Sheriff’s Office tweeted.

At some point after the deputies responded to the residence, some shots were fired, the sheriff's office said in a news release. A man was then taken to the hospital for an unrelated medical issue. He was not identified.

After the man is released, he will be taken to the Davis County Jail in Farmington, the sheriff's office said.

Authorities did not provide any other details about the shooting, including the exact address where it took place, the number of shots fired, or the number of deputies involved. The sheriff's office will be giving an update in a few days, the agency said.

The shooting is being investigated by the Davis County Critical Incident Protocol Team.
