ARCADIA, Duchesne County — Officials have identified the Roosevelt man who died Friday night when his tanker truck rolled over near 13000 West and 3800 South near Arcadia.

Kevin Olin Nye, 59, was killed in the accident about 10:40 p.m. Friday, officials said.

The Duchesne County Sheriff's Office said it does not know at this time what caused Nye to drive off the road. The incident is still under investigation, it said Sunday.

"The sheriff's office extends its sincerest condolences to Mr. Nye's family, friends and co-workers," it said.

Officials believe the crash was not witnessed, according to a Saturday news release; it was called in by another driver who passed by later.

"A small amount of production water spilled into a field from the tank the truck was pulling," the release says. "Production water is a byproduct of oil and natural gas extraction. The trucking company is financially responsible for any clean up of the spill that is required."
