GRANTSVILLE — One woman died Tuesday after a rollover crash involving a car and semitruck on I-80 in Tooele County, authorities said.
The crash took place about 6:55 a.m. near the state Route 138 exit, about four miles west of Grantsville, Tooele County, emergency dispatchers confirmed. A car and semitruck collided, killing Kristina L. Martinez, 53, of Tooele, Utah Highway Patrol said.
A 2000 Chevy Blazer was westbound going about 35 mph because it had a separated tire, according to a UHP news release.
The semitruck was traveling the same direction going about 75 mph, UHP said. It rear-ended the slow-moving Blazer, causing the car to spin off the right side of the road and roll.
The driver of the Blazer was ejected from the car while it rolled and suffered fatal injuries, troopers said.
The driver of the semitruck had minor injuries and was treated on scene.
