DELTA, Millard County— A Millard County man was charged with murder on Tuesday for allegedly shooting his brother.
John Peck, 63, of Delta, was charged with the first-degree felony in 4th District Court. An initial appearance in court was scheduled for Wednesday.
On Sunday, about 10:35 p.m., Millard County sheriff's deputies responded to a report of a shooting.
"John Peck stated he had shot his brother and needed help," according to a Millard County Jail booking report.
When deputies arrived, they found Peck was "very emotional," the report states. Peck told investigators that he and his brother were fighting over titles to property, according to the report. The body of Frank Wynn Bringard, 76, was found inside the house.
"John disclosed to detectives he shot his brother because he thought his brother was lying to him over properties," the report states.
